A temporary ground-level pedestrian crossing is being installed near Lukianivska Metro Station in Kyiv after the underground pedestrian passage was damaged during a Russian attack.
The Kyiv City State Administration announced the measure, citing the Department of Transport Infrastructure, according to Ukrinform.
The new crossing is being created near a public transport stop to provide pedestrians with a safe way to cross the road.
During the first stage, the crossing will operate as an uncontrolled pedestrian crossing, as installing a temporary traffic light requires the construction of support structures and connection to the power grid.
Once the traffic management plan is approved by Kyiv's Patrol Police Department, specialists will apply road markings and install Road Sign 5.38, "Pedestrian Crossing."
