Christopher Nolan's film "Odyssey" grossed $264.1 million in global box office receipts in its first two days, setting another record opening for the director.
This was reported by Deadline, according to Ukrinform.
In the U.S. box office, "Odyssey" earned $124.5 million, and another $139.6 million came from international markets. This is also the most successful international opening in Christopher Nolan's career: the film surpassed the results of "Oppenheimer" and "The Dark Knight Rises" in the same markets.
"Odyssey" was released in 73 countries, in 12,700 cinemas and on 25,600 screens. For Universal, this is the biggest debut in the studio's history in 11 markets, and for Nolan, the best opening in 48 countries, including France, Italy, India, Spain, Brazil, the Netherlands, and Poland.
The film has not yet been released in South Korea (August 5), China (August 14), or Japan (September 11).
