CAIRO -- The outskirts of Abadan in southwestern Iran's Khuzestan province were targeted in a US missile attack on Sunday, which resulted in no casualties, the semi-official Tasnim news agency said on social media platform X, citing a provincial official.
Abadan, home to Iran's oldest oil refinery and bordering Iraq, has been targeted in US strikes earlier this week.
Meanwhile, Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain reported on Sunday fresh Iranian aerial attacks targeting their territories, which also triggered US refueling planes evacuation from southern Israel.
Jordan's air defenses intercepted three missiles launched from Iran toward Jordanian territory on Sunday, while a fourth one fell in a remote area in southern Jordan without causing any casualties or material damage, state broadcaster the Jordan Radio and Television Corporation said on X.
Some media reports said the missiles were aimed at US military aircraft stationed in southernmost Jordan's coastal city of Aqaba, which directly borders the Israeli city of Eilat.
