Arzikin Noma has partnered with the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Bank of Agriculture (BOA) to launch a nationwide agricultural financing programme aimed at boosting grain production and empowering smallholder farmers.
The initiative targets increasing Nigeria’s annual grain output to 25 million metric tonnes, more than double the current 11 million tonnes.
The programme, dubbed the Renewed Hope Smallholder Support and Value Chain Fund, will provide accessible financing, improved agricultural inputs, and technical support to two million smallholder farmers in its initial phase, starting with 500,000 farmers this season.
The partnership aims to distribute over 10 million bags of subsidized fertilizers, certified hybrid seeds, and agrochemicals through a single-digit interest financing arrangement.
“Private-sector-led execution is the linchpin for achieving true agricultural resilience in Nigeria,” said Adeoluwa Adeshola, group managing director of Arzikin Noma Africa.
