The official poster for the CBSE South Zone–I Girls Chess Championship 2026 was unveiled by District Collector Abhishikth Kishore, at the Collectorate on Sunday.The tournament will be hosted by Visakha Valley School, Visakhapatnam, and will be held from July 23 to 26. The event is expected to draw a large contingent of budding girl chess players from various CBSE-affiliated schools across the South Zone–I region. During the unveiling ceremony, Mr. Kishore commended the efforts of the organisers in promoting chess among students.School representatives noted that preparations are in full swing to ensure a seamless experience for the visiting players, coaches, and officials. The championship is being viewed as a significant opportunity for young athletes in the city to compete at a high level and engage with their peers from across the zone.
