MANILA, Philippines — Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson on Sunday hit back at Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, saying the latter should be locked up in the Payatas Jail due to corruption allegations.
The clash was triggered by Cayetano’s assertions that the net worths of Senators Lacson and Erwin Tulfo had more than doubled.
Lacson denied the allegations on Saturday, saying his earnings were legitimate and came from real estate deals and other businesses.
He continued his defense on Sunday, saying his integrity was his “first and last line of defense” and that “Sen. Cayetano has crossed the line by attacking it.”
