The recent rise in anti-Ukrainian sentiment in Poland does not mean relations between the two countries are destined to deteriorate further.
Former Polish National Defense Minister Janusz Onyszkiewicz said this in an interview with Ukrinform.
"We need to be cautious and respond to these incidents. But it is not as though we are on a slippery slope and will continue sliding into an increasingly worse situation. We simply need to respond clearly and decisively," he said.
The former defense minister also expressed hope that the current wave of anti-Ukrainian sentiment, fueled by recent developments, would gradually subside over time.
