The Allied People’s Movement has said its candidate and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, will defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
This was as the ruling All Progressives Congress described the claim as unrealistic.
The exchange comes amid increasing political realignments ahead of the next general election, following Makinde’s emergence as the APM presidential candidate after his political alliance with the party.
Speaking with Sunday PUNCH, the APM National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Yusuf, said the party was convinced that Makinde possessed the leadership credentials and nationwide appeal required to unseat Tinubu in 2027.
