Cruel internet conspiracy theorists have speculated that Britney Spears has replaced by a body double since she was released from a conservatorship in 2021. Now her son has hit out at the claims.22:09, 18 Jul 2026Britney Spears's son has shared his thoughts on wild conspiracy theories that the chart-topping star has been cloned. Jayden James Federline is the youngest child of the Toxic singer - and the second son that she shares with dancer ex-husband Kevin Federline, 48.‌The 19-year-old has hit out at online speculation that his mother has been replaced by a clone. The cruel hoax has intensified since November 2021, when Britney, 44, was released from a conservatorship after almost 14 years - during which time, carers, including her father, had near total control of her life.‌TikTok trends have attempted to suggest that the woman spinning around and dancing in Instagram posts by Britney are not Spears herself. But now Jayden has stepped forward to rubbish the speculation and to lament those who believe the clone conspiracy theories as gullible fools.‌In a social media post that has been re-posted by the Britney Spears fan group BreatheHeavy, Jayden says: “I hop on TikTok and everyone on TikTok - I see this one video that has 1.2 million likes, and the caption is like, ‘The biggest theory ever: Is Britney Spears still alive?’ Like, bro, you can go to her page and see her right now.”The teenager went on to express his concern over the "exaggerated and fake" nature of online rumours. He said: “People know how gullible people are, and they use that to their advantage.‌"Anyone that sees it, they just see it and if it has a lot of likes, they [believe] it. They don’t even research it; they’re just, ‘Wow, yeah, it’s crazy. I believe it, though.’”It's not just members of the public who have pushed the theory that Britney has been cloned - reality star Kristin Cavallari told her podcast listeners in October 2024 that she believed Britney had been replaced by a double. She claimed: "That’s not Britney Spears [on social media]. I’m sorry, it’s not Britney Spears. Go look at photos! That’s not Britney Spears.”‌And she doubled down the following month when she claimed Britney's team approached her with a group chat text where it was suggested she meet up with the singer in Los Angeles - but then failed to follow up with the offer. The Hills star told listeners: “I’m not going to lie. … They are f**king onto me, man. They didn’t like that [cloning] podcast episode... It was one of the more interesting texts I’ve ever received in my life."She claimed she texted Britney directly outside of the group chat, typing: "Hey, I’m hardly in LA anymore, but when I come in December, I’ll let you know.” But she added: "Then she never f**king responded.“You f**ked with the wrong girl... Because to me, now, it was all bulls**t, which I thought from the jump. I was like, this does not seem genuine to me, and you just proved my point.”‌This week, Britney sparked an avalanche of speculation when she took to social media to suggest she may be about to welcome a new child. The star shared a photo of baby clothing and added a cryptic message alongside the image.Writing on Instagram, the singer typed: "If you’re lucky I have someone unbelievably beautiful I want to introduce you to… hopefully this year and if not the most beautiful things will never be seen!"She continued: "Come what may… Oh so near but the feet I feel lived too much in fear so the soil of ground that silence suspends is where I’m found yet there begin! It’s in the silence!"‌As well as Jayden, Britney is a mother to 20-year-old Sean Preston Federline, the second son she shares with Kevin. The singer was married to the dancer from 2004 until 2007.In her heartbreaking 2023 autobiography, The Woman in Me, Britney claimed that she was forced to use an intrauterine device contraceptive to prevent her from conceiving any more children. Once free of her conservatorship, the singer went on to date and marry actor Sam Asghari. In May 2022, the couple shared news that they had suffered a devastating early miscarriage. They vowed to "continue trying to expand our beautiful family" - but ultimately they split in July 2023 and divorced the following year.Article continues belowLike this story?
