The Osun State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Tosin Odeyemi, has resigned from the party and subsequently emerged as the acting state chairman of the newly registered Democratic Leadership Alliance.
Odeyemi, an ally of former Kano State Governor, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, announced his resignation in a letter dated July 16 and addressed to the NNPP National Chairman. He, however, did not disclose the reason for his decision.
The letter read, “I do hereby resign from your party. Delete my names and details from your register.”
Introducing his new party on Saturday, Odeyemi shared his letter of appointment as the pioneer acting chairman of the Democratic Leadership Alliance in Osun State, saying he had accepted the responsibilities of the new office.
The appointment was conveyed in a letter dated July 17, 2026, and signed by the DLA National Chairman, Mr Samuel Memeh.
