A Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) MLA and a functionary in Dharmapuri trespassed into schools for ‘inspections’, despite School Education Minister A. Rajmohan forbidding political parties and private organisations entering schools or having direct interaction with the students.In Pennagaram, TVK MLA S. Gajendran posted a reel of an ‘inspection’ carried out at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School, where he is seen counselling students.In Dharmapuri town, TVK town secretary Vijaykumar was welcomed into the school by the headmistress and was provided with an audience of students. Mr. Vijaykumar is also seen distributing school ID cards and addressing students marking the birth anniversary of the former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj.While the School Education Minister’s statement came in the wake of a Karur government school live telecasting Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s speech, the statement also alluded to the controversy over a school inspection done by Minister for Industries S. Keerthana that was widely shared on social media. Mr. Rajmohan had shared his views on ‘X’ stating that no political parties or private organisations will be allowed to directly interact with students.While Mr. Rajmohan’s tweet had put the onus on the government schools, there has been no direct censure to his own party cadre, who are trespassing into schools and creating reels involving children.When contacted, the Chief Education Officer Jyothi Chandra said, she had just been alerted to those videos. An inquiry will be conducted by the District Education Officer on Monday (July 20, 2026) and action will be taken on the erring school staff.
