The Alluri Sitharama Raju (ASR) district police on Saturday began investigation into the alleged threats by certain persons stating they would blow up the ASR Collectorate during a protest, which was organised by the tribal organisations demanding resolution of various issues held at Paderu on July 17.ASR district Superintendent of Police, Amit Bardar directed the officials to initiate stringent legal action against those responsible. He also said that any threat targeting government offices or public property would be treated as a serious criminal offence.Mr. Bardar said while every citizen has the democratic right to express their views and participate in protests, but issuing threats against government institutions or public property, or provoking others to indulge in such acts would invite strict action.He reiterated that the district police would deal firmly with any attempt to intimidate or threaten government establishments and warned that such offences would not be tolerated.The investigation is currently under way to identify all those involved in making such threats.
