A man arrested over a gunfight that set off a panicked stampede outside a Port Lands nightclub on Sunday is also accused of being behind a U.S. gun-running scheme that shipped 100 illegal firearms into Canada — including dozens allegedly recovered from Canadian crime scenes.
The shooting outside Rebel Nightclub around 3:25 a.m. sent clubgoers scrambling to escape after police say Omar Abdul Singateh exchanged gunfire with another, unknown suspect, before allegedly making a hasty getaway in a stolen rideshare car with passengers inside, striking several people and cars.
