Delays in implementing the Government's planned $1.5 billion budget could slow Samoa's economic recovery, the Central Bank of Samoa has warned.
In its 2026/2027 Monetary Policy Statement, the Central Bank forecasts economic growth of 2.7 per cent this financial year, following an expected contraction of 0.7 per cent in 2025/2026.
Government spending, remittances and tourism earnings are expected to support businesses and broader economic activity.
However, the bank said the previous budget had experienced "delays and slow implementation due to various challenges."
The report did not explain what those challenges were or identify the projects affected.
