Punjab National Bank reported a more than three-fold jump in net profit to over ₹5,200 crore in Q1FY27, driven by improved operating performance and healthier asset quality.

With strong improvement in overall performance, Punjab National Bank on Saturday reported net profit surging more than 3 times to over ₹5,200 crore during the April-June quarter (Q1) of the Fiscal Year 2026-27. It was over ₹1,600 crore during the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal.According to the bank, global Net Interest Margin (NIM) improved to 2.50 per cent from 2.47 per cent. Global Business grew by 10.2 per cent to ₹29.98 lakh crore from ₹27.19 lakh crore. Gross Non-Performing Assets (GNPA) ratio improved by 100 bps to 2.78 per cent from 3.78 per cent. Net Non-Performing Assets (NNPA) ratio improved by 10 bps to 0.28 per cent from 0.38 per cent.CASA (Current Account-Saving Account) Deposits increased to over ₹6 lakh crore, up 7.8 per cent. CASA Share of the bank stands at 36.7 per cent as of June’26. In terms of advances, core Retail Advances recorded a Y-o-Y growth of 17.5 per cent, while loans for housing and vehicles increased by 11.9 per cent and 34.4 per cent, respectively. Agriculture Priority Sector advances grew by 16.4 per cent, while MSME advances grew by 19.8 per cent.Published on July 18, 2026
