The UAE marks Union Pledge Day on July 18, commemorating the 1971 signing of the Union declaration and Constitution by Founding Father Sheikh Zayed.

President Sheikh Mohamed reaffirmed the nation's commitment to the principles of unity established by the late Sheikh Zayed and his fellow Rulers.

The occasion serves to reinforce values of loyalty, belonging and national cohesion, while preserving the legacy of the UAE's Founding Fathers.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, said the day presents an opportunity to consolidate the structure that led to the UAE's creation.
