The section of Ukraine's state border near the settlements of Hraniv and Kozacha Lopan in the Kharkiv region has been cleared of enemy forces.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported on Facebook by the 425th Separate Assault Regiment Skelia.
"Our assault troops eliminated an enemy attempt to infiltrate across the state border in the Kozacha Lopan area. We also completely cleared the section of the state border near the village of Hraniv," the statement said.
An assault soldier with the call sign "Barabas" said that he and his comrades had spent 18 days in Kozacha Lopan, eliminating enemy troops that had managed to enter the settlement. The defenders gradually cleared the area and eventually reached the border with Russia.
After completing the mission, the soldiers were evacuated.
