The family of a 65-year-old woman, Regina Nwoye, has petitioned President Bola Tinubu, Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo and relevant security agencies, demanding a thorough investigation into her murder.
The petition, obtained by our correspondent on Thursday and signed by her daughter, Blessing Uwechia, a broadcast journalist, called for the immediate investigation and prosecution of everyone involved in the killing, insisting that those responsible must be brought to justice.
Nwoye was reportedly attacked at her residence in Ogbu Village, Ivite Umueri, in Anambra East Local Government Area of the state on July 14, 2026.
According to the petition, the deceased was stabbed multiple times and sustained severe injuries before she was left to bleed.
The family alleged that although residents responded after hearing her cries for help and apprehended one suspect identified as Sunday Ndukaife, there were indications that more than one person might have participated in the attack.
