A year and a half after launch, the MeLE QuieterDL fanless mini PC is getting a modest processor spec bump… and a big price increase. More than a decade after entering the global smartphone market, OnePlus is pulling back. And at a time when most consumer electronics are seeing RAM & storage-related price hikes, Xteink has made a bit of a splash with its cheap, small, and honestly barely functional eBook readers that are made more useful with third-party firmware.

But just because buyers are attracted to the dirt cheap models doesn’t mean there’s not room for improvement, so it’s interesting to see reports that the company could be preparing to launch models with some of the features we often find on bigger, pricier models. At least two new models are rumored: an Xteink X4 v2 that has the same 4.3 inch screen as the original, but a larger battery, and a Xteink X4 Pro that brings more upgrades.
