New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Friday said the Chabahar Port terminal in Iran did not suffer any damage following reports of a US strike on the port.Addressing the weekly media briefing, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India had seen reports of the attack but confirmed that the terminal remained unaffected. "Regarding Chabahar, if you have been following the issue, there was a waiver granted by the American side, which expired some time ago. Since then, we have been in discussions with the relevant stakeholders on how to take this matter forward. On your question about the reported attack, yes, we have seen those reports. However, we can confirm that the terminal itself did not suffer any damage," Jaiswal said.The United States military carried out fresh strikes on Iran, including a surveillance tower at Chabahar Port, but this was located at a different terminal and the terminal managed by India is Shahid Beheshti.ET was the first to report that India is in talks with Iranian authorities to safeguard its interests in the Chabahar Port.
