The management of Paul University, Awka, Anambra State, has suspended a member of its academic support staff and commenced investigations into allegations of serious sexual misconduct involving the employee and a female student.

The affected staff member, Ven. Cornelius Eze, an Anglican priest and Practical Biology Technologist in the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, was placed on indefinite suspension pending the outcome of the university’s internal disciplinary process and investigations by relevant law enforcement agencies.

The suspension was announced in a press release dated July 17, 2026, and signed by the faith-based university’s Public Relations Officer, Rev. Godsplan Onukwufor.

A video that has circulated widely on social media since Wednesday purportedly shows a lecturer engaged in inappropriate conduct with a female student on a university campus.

In the footage, some students are seen forcing their way into an office in an apparent attempt to apprehend the lecturer, who then jumps out of a window and runs away.
