The pass percentage has improved for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test ( NEET) in the Union Territory. Of the total 4,716 students who appeared for the exam, 2,451 have qualified, a 51.972% success rate. The success rate is around 0.72% more compared to the 2025 NEET results. In the examination conducted last year, of the 5,149 students who appeared, only 2,639 had qualified.However, there had been a dip in the number of students who registered for the exam and actually appeared for it this year. While 5,266 students had registered for NEET in 2025, 5,149 of them appeared. But in 2026, only 4,716 students appeared for the examination of the total 5,402 candidates.Krishanth Abhinav M. was declared the Puducherry topper in the results declared on Thursday evening. Abhinav had scored 99.8721 percentile and secured an all India rank of 553. He scored 670 marks out of 720 in the qualifying examination.A student of Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School in the town, Abhinav has already qualified JEE (Advanced) and aptitude test for Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research. He has secured 648th rank in the OBC category and 3,215 rank in the general category for JEE Advanced.“With my JEE Advanced score, I have decided to join Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. I was giving equal importance to both JEE and NEET, but the re-test for NEET really helped me in scoring better.
