SAN FRANCISCO, Agusan del Sur — A mining site allegedly operating outside the bounds of the law was left without its heavy equipment after authorities seized nearly ₱9.57 million worth of machinery and tools during an anti-illegal mining operation in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.
The operation, conducted late Thursday evening, July 16, resulted in the recovery of two backhoes, three gasoline-powered water pump engines, a sluice box, a battery, and other equipment believed to have been used in unauthorized mining activities.
The joint operation was carried out by police units in Caraga in coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Bayugan, and the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Regional Office 13.
