Kerala’s traditional architecture has always been environmentally sustainable, says Tourism Minister

The 9th edition of ‘The Hindu Home Expo’ began at the LuLu Mall Grand Atrium, Akkulam, on Friday (July 17, 2026), with Minister for Tourism and Culture P.C. Vishnunadh inaugurating the event.Speaking after the inauguration, the Minister said that public discourse is now once again favouring environmentally friendly construction, and that the traditional architecture of Kerala had always been environmentally sustainable. “It is heartening to see that Kerala is returning to its traditional architectural practices after a brief deviation,” said the Minister.
