Srikakulam District Congress Committee president Sanapala Annajirao on Friday urged the government to ensure adequate quantity of fertilizers to farmers in on-going Kharif season.He submitted a memorandum to district officials and explained the plight of farmers of Srikakulam, Narasannapeta, Amadavalasa, Bujra and other mandals. Speaking to media in Srikakulam, Mr. Annajirao said that many farmers were unable to upload their details in government websites due to illiteracy and lack of smartphones. He said that online allocation procedure might be good to prevent black marketing of fertilizers but it was causing mental agony for many farmers.Even 30% of quantity of fertilizers had not been distributed in many mandals, Mr. Annajirao said, adding that the Congress mandal level leaders were asked to interact with farmers and collect the data which would be inturn submitted to the officials for taking up remedial measures.
