Ellis Heather, 25, was today handed a life-sentence at the Old Bailey for stabbing content creator Stephen Morrisson, 30, to death at a music video shoot in Epping14:03, 17 Jul 2026Updated 14:35, 17 Jul 2026A drill rapper who murdered a content creator at a music video shoot in Essex has been jailed for life.‌Stephen Morrisson, 30, died on June 23, 2020, after suffering a fatal stab injury during a violent assault in a car park in Epping.‌Ellis Heather, 25, was today handed a life-sentence at the Old Bailey and must serve a minimum of 28 years.‌Stephen, known online as Zero Ls, was stabbed within minutes of stumbling into Heather's music video shoot, during which he was filming with big snakes and a Komodo dragon by the Wake Valley Pond car park, near Loughton.Heather, whose stage name is Rack5, is a member of CGM - a west London gang also called 1011. He is already serving a prison sentence for firearms offences.Stephen was able to leave the scene despite his injures and seek help at a petrol station before he tragically later died in hospital.‌Stephen, who regularly posted content on Snapchat and YouTube, often appeared in music videos alongside his brother - a rapper known as Morrison, who has charted in the UK.Jurors heard Stephen had been acting "a bit weird" after arriving at the shoot, banging his head on a tree and driving at members of the group.‌A witness told the court that Heather became enraged by Stephen's erratic behaviour and stabbed him in the torso before later bragging about his crime.Police trawled through more than 200 hours of CCTV footage and seized mobile phones, almost 40 computer devices and five vehicles during the investigation into Stephen's death.Heather, formerly of Taplow, Maidenhead, was found guilty of murder by a jury on June 23, 2026, following a five-week trial.‌At a sentencing hearing today, His Honour Judge Lickley KC said the defendant was "armed with a knife… and had used it to deadly effect" and that he had "stabbed Stephen without any justification… in a moment of extreme violence".He then left the scene with no concern for Stephen, the judge added. The Judge also said Heather had boasted about his actions in a music video and had mocked Stephen's family.In a statement read by Stephen's mum Lorraine on behalf of her family, she said: "Steve was a son, a brother, a dad and an uncle. Every day we try to keep his memory alive so that his young son, nieces and nephews never forget him, because memories are all we now have left.‌"The babies born after his death have been robbed of the chance to know their amazing uncle, because of you. We have attended weddings, family events and celebrations that Steve should have been part of."We place a photograph where Steve would have sat so that he is still included. The older children feel the same pain and loss that we do as adults.‌"Steve was a huge part of our lives. He was happy, funny and larger than life.
