The White House's Gold Eagle has landed.
After announcing the vulnerability coordination clearinghouse "Gold Eagle" on June 2, the White House launched the initiative on July 14. The collaboration layer was announced as part of the White House's broader plans to modernize national cybersecurity in anticipation of large language models (LLMs) like Anthropic's Claude Mythos fundamentally changing the vulnerability landscape.
The clearinghouse was planned by Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent in consultation with National Cyber Director Sean Cairncross; Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, through Director of the National Security Agency (NSA) Joshua Rudd; and Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin, through acting Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Nick Andersen.
