Supermarket Aldi is looking to recruit hundreds of new staff members, in a boost for young people struggling to find entry-level jobs.
The grocery chain will hire around 450 new staff. Candidates don’t need any prior experience or formal qualifications, but Aldi says it wants to find workers who are friendly, positive and comfortable with numbers.
These roles are part of Aldi’s £370million expansion drive as it aims to open 40 new stores this year. It will also upgrade 25 existing shops in locations such as Stockton, Kingston Upon Thames and Musselburgh.
Aldi is one of the highest paying supermarkets in the UK. Successful applicants will receive £13.50 per hour and £14.88 within the M25.
Pay will rise to £14.47 and £15.20 per hour respectively based on length of service.
