Japanese frozen food giant Nichirei says it is ready to gradually restore operations affected by a cyberattack on July 13.
Headquartered in Tokyo, Nichirei is one of Japan’s top frozen food producers. It also provides cold storage warehousing and operates globally through 80 subsidiaries.
In response to the cyberattack, the company disconnected its systems on July 13, affecting operations at Nichirei Logistics Group’s refrigerated warehouses and Nichirei Foods’ shipping operations.
The disruption has affected multiple restaurant chains, retailers, and delivery services, according to local media reports.
On Thursday, Nichirei announced (PDF) that it would gradually restore the impacted operations starting Friday, but did not provide details on when services would be fully operational.
