Latest telecommunications industry data shows Nigeria’s active mobile subscription rose to 188.01 million in April, with Globacom accounting for 23.18 million.
The industry figures released by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on Thursday show sustained growth in mobile access following the recent verification of subscriber data across networks.
The data also showed that teledensity rose to 86.73 per cent, while broadband subscriptions increased to 120.68 million, indicating growing demand for voice and internet services.
According to the data, the subscriber base positions the operator for growth in data services, youth offerings, small business connectivity and customer retention ahead of its 23rd anniversary in August.
The telecom operator has continued to target the mass market through affordable products, including its Talkmasta tariff plan and enhanced welcome bonus for new and existing subscribers.
