In an updated travel advisory issued on July 15, Singapore Airlines said the extension was due to the "geopolitical situation in the Middle East," The Straits Times reported.
In a separate statement released the same day, the airline said Scoot's cancellations were prompted by the renewed escalation of hostilities in the region, AsiaOne reported.

"As the situation remains fluid, other SIA flights may be affected," the airline said.
Passengers impacted by the cancellations are eligible for a full refund of the unused portion of their tickets, according to both carriers.
