Thirty young Nigerians have begun a three-month cloud computing training programme under the Amazon Web Services re/Start initiative at the Ilorin Innovation Hub.
The training is said to be part of efforts to equip unemployed and underemployed youths with globally relevant digital skills.
Arewa PUNCH reports that the programme, launched in the week is a joint move by the Kwara State Government, Amazon Web Services, and the IHS Nigeria, to provide participants with 12 weeks of intensive training in cloud computing, professional development and career readiness, preparing them for entry-level opportunities in the global technology industry.
Speaking at the launch, the Specialist, Global IT Systems Security and Cloud Infrastructure Administration at IHS Nigeria, Habeeb Salawu, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s digital economy through strategic investments in human capital.
“This initiative represents another important milestone in our journey to drive innovation and equip young Nigerians with the digital skills needed to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world,” Salawu said.
