The leadership of the Accord Party at the state level has thrown its weight behind Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, passing a vote of confidence in the governor and pledging to mobilise support for his re-election ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
The endorsement came as the party’s state chairmen also announced the indefinite postponement of the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting earlier scheduled for Thursday, July 16, in Abuja, describing the decision as a mark of honour for Adeleke.
The resolutions were reached during a meeting of the party’s state chairmen in the Federal Capital Territory and contained in a communique signed by Iliyas Badanga, chairman of the Accord Party State Chairmen Forum and the party’s Kogi State chairman.
The communique, jointly endorsed by chairmen from 27 states and the Federal Capital Territory, signals a rare show of unity within the party while underscoring its political alignment with Adeleke as preparations intensify for the Osun governorship poll.
