The African Democratic Congress has expressed condolences to its vice-presidential candidate, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, following the death of his mother, Mrs Mary Amaechi.
The opposition party described the late matriarch as a woman whose love, guidance and sacrifices helped shape generations, while praying for strength and comfort for the bereaved family.
The condolence message comes as political leaders, associates and supporters continue to sympathise with Amaechi, a former Minister of Transportation, over the loss of his mother.
In Nigerian culture, the passing of a family matriarch is often regarded as a significant moment, attracting tributes that celebrate her influence on her family and community.
In a statement issued on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC extended its sympathies to the former minister and his family.
