A protest against the dismissal of Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov grew significantly larger on Thursday evening in central Kyiv.
According to an Ukrinform correspondent, the rally is taking place in the square outside the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater, near the Office of the President.
On streets surrounding the square, participants are using markers to write slogans on improvised cardboard signs before immediately joining the demonstration.
The evening rally appeared even larger than the one held earlier in the day. Most participants are young people holding cardboard placards with slogans such as: "The source of power in Ukraine is people with signs," "Syrskyi must resign," "Fedorov to the Defense Ministry," "We support Fedorov," "We stand for Defense Minister Fedorov," "Keep Soviet practices out of the army," "Hands off Fedorov," "Leave our defense minister alone," "Not without flaws, but with results – Fedorov," and "Where is the explanation?"
Protesters were also chanting: "Syrskyi out," "Out with corruption," "Glory to the heroes," "Fedorov is Ukraine's defense minister," and "Power belongs to the people."
