DUBAI: Dubai Media Office said on Thursday there had been no sounds of explosions in downtown Dubai, after witnesses earlier reported hearing booms in that area.
“The Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO) confirms that the Reuters report regarding explosions in Downtown Dubai is false,” the office said in a post on X.
It urged the public and media outlets to rely only on official sources for accurate information and to refrain from spreading rumors or unverified reports.
In a separate post shortly afterward, the office said action would be taken against media outlets that “publish false news or unverified information about Dubai, in accordance with local and federal laws and regulations.”
