Post-Assad Syria seizes weapons destined for Lebanese Hezbollah. Damascus' Interior Ministry announced that it had intercepted a large shipment of sophisticated weapons destined for Hezbollah and prevented its passage from Iraq into Syrian territory to reach Lebanon, the official Syrian agency Sana reports. The ministry reports an operation launched after a suspicious vehicle was spotted parked near the border between Syria and Iraq, and a raid that led to the discovery of the arms shipment, including long-range missiles, anti-tank missiles, and drones. Everything, according to official news released by Damascus, was supposed to transit through Syrian territory before being delivered to Hezbollah in Lebanon. Donald Trump, who received Syrian leader Ahmed al-Sharaa at the White House in recent months, more recently said he had "suggested to Israel that Syria should deal with Hezbollah" in Lebanon.
