Claudia Winkleman has announced she has no plans to return to host her BBC chat show and fans are hoping another iconic show will return and take its place17:55, 16 Jul 2026The Traitors host Claudia Winkleman has stepped down from her talk show after just one series.‌The TV presenter, who quit Strictly Come Dancing last year, fronted seven episodes of The Claudia Winkleman Show earlier this year, which was made by Graham Norton's production company.‌In a statement, the mother of three said: "I’m incredibly grateful to the BBC for giving me the opportunity, to the guests who agreed to come and chat to me, and the production team who were simply excellent.‌"Sometimes you have to try something to see how it fits, and I realised I was just too nervous to enjoy it. Maybe one day I will give it another try, but for now I already have the best jobs in the world and absolutely love the shows I'm doing."During its seven-week run, the presenter interviewed a host of famous guests such as Lisa Kudrow, Jeff Goldblum, Niall Horan and Rachel Zegler.‌Ralph Fiennes, James McAvoy, Jamie Dornan, Vanessa Williams and new Strictly Come Dancing co-host Josh Widdicombe also appeared on her sofa.Following Claudia's announcement, fans have taken to social media to predict which programme could fill in the talk show gap in BBC's schedule and one name seemed popular.Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: "Now get Alan Carr in and BBC redo Chatty man!!". Another added: "Its needs to be Alan Carr." A third person wrote: Yess bring chatty man back!!" Someoene else agreed: "I miss Chatty Man sooo much."‌Alan Carr: Chatty Man ran for 181 episodes from 2009 until 2016 on Channel 4 and featured interviews with celebrity guests, sketches, topical chat and music. In 2013, the comedian won a BAFTA for Best Entertainment Performance.The first episode drew in a total of 2.15 million viewers. To date, the show has broadcast 16 series The eleventh series consisted of 18 episodes, making it the longest series to date.‌Chatty Man was replaced by the spin-off show Alan Carr's Happy Hour, which began in December 2016 and was to be similar to Chatty Man but without interviews with celebrities or alcohol as Channel 4 wanted to attract a younger audience.Happy Hour ran for three episodes over consecutive weeks and featured appearances from Rebel Wilson, Honey G, Michelle Keegan, Lady Gaga, Amanda Holden and John Legend.Article continues belowAlan won the first-ever series of Celebrity Traitors last year, hosted by Claudia, and he revealed there are currently no plans for Chatty Man to return.Speaking on Lennie and Jessie Ware's Table Manners podcast, the funnyman said: It would be nice to do a chat show.
