Issac Baldizon / Getty ImagesJuly 16, 2026 11:19 am EDT Updated The NBA will not punish Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo for punching former teammate Tyler Herro at a Las Vegas hotel and gym last week, a league spokesperson told The Athletic.“After discussing with the players involved and the NBPA, everyone would prefer to move on from this unfortunate circumstance, and no further action will be taken by the league,” the spokesperson said.The Milwaukee Bucks, the Heat and the NBPA declined to comment.On Friday, Herro’s AAU team was practicing inside Resorts World Las Vegas hotel. Herro appeared to yell something at Adebayo, who made his way toward Herro and then threw a punch. Players and coaches quickly broke up the altercation, and Adebayo made his way out of the hotel.Adebayo and Herro were teammates for seven years in Miami before Herro was traded to Milwaukee as part of the package of players and picks the Bucks received to move two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.Following the trade, a fan leaked a series of screenshots of direct messages that appeared to come from an Instagram account connected to Herro.
