The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) will organise a Divine Waste Collection Drive at five major temples across its jurisdiction on Saturday (July 18), as part of its efforts to promote scientific waste management and environmentally sustainable disposal of religious offerings. The drive will be conducted from 8.30 a.m. to 11 a.m. by CMC sanitation teams along with volunteers.The programme will be held at Seetha Ramanjaneya Swamy Temple in Whitefields, Kondapur; Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple on Seven Hills Road in Nizampet; Shivalayam Temple in Kompally; Sai Baba Temple near Peacock Junction in Pragathi Nagar and Sri Ramalingeshwara Swamy Temple near the Railway Underpass in Medchal.The collected divine waste will be scientifically segregated and processed through authorised recycling and environmentally responsible disposal methods to reduce pollution and promote sustainable management of religious offerings, the civic body said.CMC Commissioner G. Srijana appealed to temple management committees, resident welfare associations (RWAs), volunteers, devotees and the public to participate in the initiative and support efforts to keep Cyberabad clean, green and environmentally responsible.
