Juno Bio has raised $3.8 million from Ada Ventures, Artesian, Entrepreneur First, and Illumina Accelerator to scale precision vaginal microbiome testing.
The Oakland-based startup says 67.5% of patients who later used its platform had previously been misdiagnosed, underdiagnosed, or overdiagnosed.

A doctor’s visit for a vaginal infection often ends the same way it started: a swab under a microscope, a guess, and a prescription that may or may not work. Juno Bio, a women’s health startup built on the belief that the real failure in vaginal healthcare is diagnostic rather than therapeutic, has raised $3.8 million to change that.
The round comes from Ada Ventures, Artesian, Entrepreneur First, and Illumina Accelerator, and coincides with Juno Bio opening its first CLIA-certified sequencing lab in Oakland, California, a facility dedicated entirely to women’s health, processing tests that were previously outsourced.
