Aerospace and defense company Airbus has selected Scaleway as its sovereign cloud provider.
Following a tender process, Airbus has opted for French cloud firm Scaleway to bring its sovereign European cloud platform into Airbus' multicloud strategy.

In a statement, Airbus said it assessed applicants for the tender based on technical capabilities, including cloud services, interoperability, scalability, and AI capabilities, as well as operational standards and legal and governance safeguards related to keeping data within the European jurisdiction.
The company said that by taking a multicloud approach, it will be able to put workloads where they are best suited, depending on technical and regulatory needs, adding that it will use Scaleway's platform for workloads related to aircraft design, engineering, manufacturing, and enterprise operations.
