Atlanta Falcons fans have spoken.
Among other things, they are expecting Tua Tagovailoa to be the new starting quarterback, they are happy with the Kevin Stefanski hire and they want Tommy Nobis in the Hall of Fame. Those are some of the highlights from asking Atlanta fans for their thoughts on their team. Take a look at the full results below:
There’s still a long way to go in the Falcons’ starting quarterback competition, but the public has a pick — a clear one. Tagovailoa only arrived in Atlanta this offseason — on a one-year, reclamation free agency deal at that — but Falcons fans are overwhelmingly ready to turn over the keys to him. Clearly, this vote is more a reflection of frustration with Michael Penix Jr., the No. 8 pick in 2024, who has only four wins in 12 career starts and is coming off a fifth season-ending injury (four in college and one in the NFL).
This question also gave us some insight into the Legend of Jack Strand. If you’re not familiar with the Legend of Jack Strand, it’s because you are not chronically online (and congratulations on that). The backstory: There is a loud contingent of Falcons fans who are convinced that Strand, a 6-foot-5 undrafted free agent out of Division II Minnesota State-Moorhead, will win the starting quarterback job. Despite the outspoken nature of that group, it appears from our polling that it is tiny (seven votes total), which is reassuring considering Strand’s slim chances of even getting a spot on the 53-man roster.
