Unni Koroth and Nekender Shekhawat, founders of Othor AI
Othor AI, the AI-native business intelligence startup founded by entrepreneur Unni Koroth, announced on Thursday that it has raised ₹60 lakh (approximately $70,000) in a bridge funding round. This latest infusion brings the company’s total early-stage funding to approximately $150,000, following its initial raise in February 2025 and a follow-up pre-seed round in June 2025.The bridge round saw participation from a mix of returning angel investors from previous rounds and new angels joining the company’s journey for the first time. A media statement said that the continued backing from existing investors, alongside fresh conviction from new entrants, underscores growing confidence in Othor AI’s vision of Scientific Business Intelligence.Prominent names in this round include Amit Ashu, Avinash Kumar (EasyShip), and Balasubrahmanyan Sridhara (NVIDIA).Amit Ashu, a former colleague of Unni Koroth at Whatfix, has gone beyond investing and joined Othor AI as Chief Product Officer, strengthening the founding team in its push towards product-market fit.The capital from this round will be deployed to extend the company’s runway, accelerate product development and customer acquisition, and prepare the company for its upcoming seed funding round. The funding also supports Othor AI’s continued groundwork for US market entry as part of its international expansion plans.Quoting Unni Koroth, Chief Executive Offier of Othor AI, the statement said, “The fact that investors who backed us earlier chose to double down, and that new angels came in alongside them, is the strongest signal of belief a young company can receive. This bridge round gives us the fuel to sharpen our product, deepen customer traction, and enter our seed round from a position of strength.”Founded by Unni Koroth and Nekender Shekhawat in September 2024, Othor AI is building a new kind of business intelligence, modelled on the best practices of the world’s elite intelligence agencies. Positioned as the fast, easy, and secure AI-native alternative to traditional business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau and Looker, Othor AI acts as an ‘AI Head of Intelligence’ for organisations, delivering signal reports, decision briefs, and answers to questions teams never thought to ask, every morning at 6 am, the statement said.Unlike conventional business intelligence platforms that demand dashboards, queries, and analyst bottlenecks, Othor AI connects to a company’s data sources and unlocks hidden signals in minutes, with zero coding. Its AI agents automatically discover key metrics, detect anomalies and trends, generate forecasts, and deliver daily insights in plain language, serving everyone from frontline employees to the C-suite. The platform works with any large language model and can be deployed in the cloud or self-hosted, giving businesses complete control over their data and AI stack, it said.Unni Koroth previously founded edu-tech startup Foradian in Mangaluru in 2009. After exiting Foradian in 2019, Koroth spent three years at Whatfix before founding Othor AI.Published on July 16, 2026
