Ukraine supports Turkey serving as one of the main venues for a potential meeting between President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to Ukrinform, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha made the statement during a joint press conference in Kyiv with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

Sybiha emphasized that Ankara played a crucial role in establishing the Black Sea Grain Initiative at the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion and has since served as an important venue for a number of high-level meetings.

Sybiha said that they had discussed continuing Turkey's role and that Ukraine supported the idea of Turkey becoming one of the main venues for a meeting between President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin. He added that Ukraine welcomed this proposal and was grateful to the Turkish side for its willingness to organize such a high-level meeting and provide the appropriate platform.
