Forty-five years on from its inaugural line-up, which featured Thin Lizzy as headliners and a nascent U2 among the supporting cast, Slane Castle is reopening its grounds to concertgoers for two nights of Luke Combs. It is more than three years since the venue last hosted one of its summer gigs. It features heavily on a packed set list that edges close to 30 songs. When and where is the gig?Combs plays Slane Castle on Saturday, July 18th, and Sunday, July 19th. The decision is whether to drive by car or book a spot on a private coach. All coach and car parks are a 20-30 minute walk from the concert site, so factor that into your planning.Travel by bus: Private coaches are in operation across the country, and can be booked via the Evntz app here. Travel by car: Car parking must be prebopre-bookeddvance of the gig via the Evntz app. There are five car parks in total at Slane – Blue, Pink, Green, Red 1 and Red 2. Organisers ask that you do not park illegally or in residential areas. There will be no storage facilities on the site.No hard plastic, metal or glass reusable bottles are permitted. What does the weather look like?It looks as though the hot weather will continue, with Met Éireann forecasting a dry, warm and sunny weekend. These concerts are happening on a large outdoor site, and you will likely be standing for about eight hours, so make sure you’re wearing shoes you can trust.
