Amid ongoing US strikes on Iran, multiple reports have emerged of explosions and the activation of air defense systems in several cities across the country.

According to published reports, at least two powerful explosions were heard in Khorramabad. The cities of Semnan, Urmia, Bandar Abbas, Ahvaz, and Chabahar also witnessed explosions or the activation of air defense systems. Thus far, local officials have not provided explanations regarding the exact locations or causes of these blasts.

In Tehran, the Mehr News Agency reported the activation of air defense systems and possible explosions around Parchin and Pakdasht. The Hamshahri newspaper also wrote that air defenses in some areas of the capital were activated to counter “hostile targets.”

However, the Public Relations Office of the IRGC in Tehran Province issued a statement claiming that the sound of the explosion heard in Pakdasht was due to the operation of air defense systems in the Parchin area, denying that any impact had occurred. The statement emphasized that no incident or impact took place in the area and that the air defense activity was part of standard defensive operations.

On Qeshm Island, the state-run IRNA news agency reported hearing the sound of an explosion. The Hormozgan Governorate announced that, during tonight’s US attacks, a portion of the Suza fishmeal factory sustained limited damage. According to provincial officials, because the facility was vacant, no casualties have been reported so far.
