The UK government has proposed a default overnight social media curfew for older teenagers, along with other measures intended to supplement the overall ban for under-16s that is already in the works.
Social media companies would be obliged to turn on the restrictions for teens aged 16 and 17 by default, but those users would be able to turn them off.
In addition to a curfew from midnight to 6 a.m., features such as autoplay and infinite scrolling would also be disabled by default for those users, the government said.
