Lucknow, July 15: Uttar Pradesh is set to host one of its largest Japanese business delegations next month, as more than 200 CEOs from Japan and Yamanashi Prefecture are expected to visit the state from August 19 for a five-day programme aimed at exploring investment opportunities and strengthening bilateral cooperation across key sectors.In preparation for the visit, a 12-member high-level delegation from Yamanashi Prefecture, led by Shri Narendra Upadhyay, Advisor to the Prefectural Government, visited the Invest UP office in Lucknow to finalise the itinerary and engagement plan. The visit marks an important follow-up to Hon’ble Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s recent visit to Japan and is expected to translate strategic discussions into concrete investments and long-term partnerships.The meeting was chaired by Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner (IIDC) Shri Deepak Kumar. Invest UP CEO Shri Vijay Kiran Anand and Additional CEO Shri Shashank Chaudhary were also present.The visiting delegation will participate in a series of government-to-business (G2B) and business-to-business (B2B) meetings with senior state officials, industry leaders and other stakeholders. The discussions will focus on opportunities in manufacturing, green hydrogen, renewable energy, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), automobiles, food processing, skill development, and manpower exchange. The visit is also expected to pave the way for new Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), providing Letters of Comfort (LoCs), and land allotments for investment projects in Uttar Pradesh.As part of the engagement, the Yamanashi delegation also met Shri Jaiveer Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism & Culture, to explore avenues for expanding tourism and cultural cooperation between Uttar Pradesh and Yamanashi Prefecture. Discussions centred on developing modern tourism infrastructure, enhancing connectivity, promoting heritage conservation, and encouraging investments in hospitality and wellness tourism.
