The defence counsel consequently sought an adjournment, assuring the court that a medical report detailing her health condition would be presented at the next sitting.

The Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, has adjourned the trial of popular social media influencer and relationship therapist, Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, widely known as Blessing CEO, until Monday, July 20, 2026, after she failed to appear in court due to an alleged illness.

Blessing CEO is currently standing trial before Justice D.I. Dipeolu on a two-count charge filed by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of obtaining money by false pretence and theft involving N36 million.

At the resumed proceedings on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, counsel to the defendant, P.I. Nwafuru, informed the court that officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) had notified him that his client was unwell and was therefore unable to attend the hearing.
